A PRACTICAL START

Answers for the money work you are trying to do.

Use these short guides to understand what FinTrack records, how its views fit together and where the current product boundary sits.

Getting started

What should I add first?

Start with the accounts you want to track, then record a few transactions. Budgets and reports become useful as your recorded history grows.

Does FinTrack connect to my bank?

The public product description does not promise automatic bank connections. FinTrack works from the accounts and records you choose to add, including compatible CSV imports.

Can I use my own currency?

Accounts have a currency setting, and the interface is designed for recorded amounts in the currency you choose. Check the account setup in the product for the options available to you.

Using FinTrack

What can I put in a transaction?

A transaction includes the information needed to understand a movement of money: its type, amount, date, description, category and account.

What are reports for?

Reports bring recorded spending into trend and category views, so you can see patterns beyond a single transaction or account.

Can the assistant change my records?

The assistant can prepare a transaction when you ask it to record one. The product flow is designed to ask for confirmation before a record is written.

Shared money

What is a project?

A project is a separate shared context for accounts, transactions, members and reports. It can help keep a household, event, team or other group distinct from personal records.

How do Ajo and Esusu differ?

Ajo is built around flexible pooled contributions, contribution-bounded member loans and approved withdrawals. Esusu uses fixed recurring contributions and join-order payout. The setup flow explains the model before you create a circle.

Can a new person accept a project invitation?

Project invitations are part of the product, but the new-user invitation and registration handoff is still being completed. Do not treat an invitation as proof that a new account can join without an existing account.
